Easter

We had a really fun Easter this year! We tried to teach the kids a little bit about why we celebrate Easter, but they were more into the candy and easter egg hunts. Ah well- I'm sure they hear more than we think, right?

Yummy snacks

In my search for food that's somewhat healthy, but also tastes good, I came across these:

I couldn't find the right picture, but I like this cereal in the cranberry vanilla flavor. I think I had at least 3 bowls a day until the box was gone. It has the grape-nuts along with granola clusters, dried cranberries, almonds, and a hint of vanilla.

I don't know if this is new, but IT IS GOOD! I got it thinking it would be a healthy choice of a snack for my kids, but I polished it off about 5 minutes after I opened it. Granola clusters, almonds, cranberries, pecans, and dried apple pieces sprinkled with cinnamon. And I just found out you can buy it in a box with 30 individual bags-great on- the- go snack! I sound like a spokesperson, but try it-you'll like it!

Pinkalicious!

Clara's 4 today!

Some things I love about Clara:

Her cute dimples

Her obsession with shoes- I'm pretty sure she has more pairs than I do!

She loves loves loves anything pink or princess!

Her hair has FINALLY filled in enough that I can straighten it and she LOVES when I do because then it's long like Maya's.

She's quite the little mother to Clay and Janie.

She was a very good baby and she's still happy most of the time.

She has alot of my similarities- blonde hair, tall and skinny, shyness, and an underbite (aka many years of dental work to come- sorry Dr. Drew)

We celebrated her birthday with a pinkalicious party!

The party favors- my favorite! I kinda wanted to keep one for myself. :)

The cupcake for 'pin the cherry on the cupcake' handcrafted by Candice (it looks just like the invitations we sent out)

The pinkalicious table!

The 'pretty in pink' girls playing Don't Eat Pink!
(Maya, Clara, Eden, Livvy, Hailey, and Kedzie)

The cutest part of the party was when Clara was opening her presents and the girls were saying things like "Clara, you're really gonna love me" and "Clara, isn't that just what you wanted?" It was a crack up.

Clara did pretty dang good putting the cherry on blindfolded. I thought they could see through, but I tried it on and couldn't see a thing!

The end result

The food- pink lemonade, crackers with turkey(not pink I know, but it's almost impossible to find anything halfway healthy that is), strawberries, strawberry yogurt, bagels with strawberry cream cheese, and of course pink cupcakes!

Happy Birthday Clara girl! We love you!

And it only took her 17 months to figure it out!

Rocky Point

Last weekend Derek and I had the privilege of going to Rocky Point with Heather, Tadd, Candice, and Chris to celebrate Tadd's birthday. We had the time of our lives! This is the view from our condo.

Dinner at The Point

The view from our table at the restaurant

We did lots of laying out, exercising, eating, and relaxing! The place we stayed was very family friendly and the kids would have loved it, but it was so nice to have a little break and live in the lap of luxury! (Thanks to Derek's mom for staying with the kids!) The weather was PERFECT! And we took advantage of the poolside service- best drink ever- the Miami Vice (strawberry daquiri and pina colada mixed, virgin, of course).

They were setting up for a wedding Friday morning right on the beach. Beautiful! When I get married again, it'll be on the beach. Just kiddin' Dad and Derek.

Dinner at the Blue Marlin. I actually tried a fish taco and it was not bad! (I'm not a fan of seafood normally)

We couldn't leave without stopping at Thrifty ice cream!

Thanks again Heather and Tadd- we'll do it again anytime!
